Dr. Tobias Géron

I obtained my PhD from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom. I studied how galaxies evolve, with a focus on the effects that strong and weak bars have on their host galaxies. I was also very involved in Galaxy Zoo, a citizen science project that used volunteer classifications to obtain morphologies for a large number of galaxies. I am currently a Rubin Fellow at the University of Toronto. I will help develop software and new research tools for the Transient and Variable Star Collaboration to make research with data coming from Rubin LSST easier and more accessible. I will also be continuing my own research on galaxy evolution and kinematics.
