Ariel Amaral

Ariel is a PhD candidate at the David A. Dunlap Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics and the Dunlap Institute. She is interested in extragalactic radio astronomy and magnetism. Her thesis specifically focuses on the magnetism of the cosmic web and large scale structure, the magnetism of early galaxies (proto-galaxies), and the magnetic fields found within and surrounding active galactic nuclei (AGN). Her supervisor is Professor Bryan Gaensler.

She received an Honours Bachelor of Science with High Distinction in Physics and Astronomy with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Toronto in 2017.
