On-Sky
We performed out first on-sky test in June 2026 with the DMD-MOS attached to CDK20-0.5m telescope at Carr Astronomical Observatory (CAO) in Ontario Canada. Current set up covers a 10.5x13.4 arcmin FoV of the sky sufficient for multi-targets acquisition. With our first try, we collected spectrum from bright targets such as Vega and Moon for flux calibration, we aim to collect more data from different type of stars as well as galaxies and clusters.
The reduced spectrum for Vega collected by DMD-MOS was showed as the black curve in the plot. The gray spectral line represent the reference Vega spectrum from CALSPEC. The absorption line shows a good match between the collected data and reference data based on the calibrated wavelength from lab testing results. The light blue curve represent the atmosphere transmission which was downloaded from ESO SkyCalc simulator. The light red curve was the total system throughput including mirror reflection rate, lens transmission rate, grating efficiency and detector quantum efficiency.
