Multi-wavelength follow-up of fast radio bursts in the era of routine (sub)arcsecond localizations
Talk recordings are available on YouTube.

Overview
Paul Cadario Conference Centre
University College, University of Toronto
April 25 and 26, 2023
Registration for the workshop is closed.
With new facilities coming online or being upgraded in the next few years (e.g., DSA-110, the coherent-search upgrade to CRAFT, CHIME/FRB Outriggers) we will start getting hundreds of (sub)arcsecond localizations of fast radio bursts (FRBs) per year. It will likely not be feasible to acquire telescope time to get, e.g., spectroscopic redshifts of all host galaxies or take deep X-ray observations of all nearby sources. It is thus key to strategize with the full astronomy community interested in these sources. This workshop, organized by the CHIME/FRB Collaboration and the Dunlap Institute for Astronomy & Astrophysics, will bring together experts on FRB localization and multi-wavelength followup of transients as well as those interested in using FRBs with redshifts as probes. In this workshop we will discuss current and future capabilities of instruments and come up with strategies to ensure that all scientific goals are met without oversubscribing telescope time.
This will be a two-day meeting with invited plenary talks in the morning and discussions in smaller groups in the afternoon.

Travel
Air
Travelers typically arrive via Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). For information on how to get from the airport to the city, please see the Public Transportation section below. YYZ is also well served by taxis and rideshare.
Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) offers direct access to the downtown from select cities in eastern US and Canada.
Rail
Rail travel to Toronto is available within Canada (www.viarail.ca) and northeastern US (www.amtrak.com; Maple Leaf service).
Bus
Intercity bus travel can be arranged through companies such as Greyhound: https://www.greyhound.com/en-us/bus-stations-in-toronto
Public transportation
Toronto is well served by a safe and extensive public transportation network. For an overview of the many options, see: https://www.toronto.ca/services-payments/streets-parking-transportation/transit-in-toronto/
