Community Climate Committee

The Community Climate Committee (CCC) was formed partly to be the body who absorbed the recommendations of the APS, UTCAP, CCDI reviews of the astronomy units. Below are the seven recommendations formulated through these site reviews and which the CCC used to develop its working sub-committees:

Develop and support EDI training within the units
Support the expansion and formalising of the mentoring scheme
Develop mechanisms for monitoring the climate within the units
Advise the leadership on hiring and admissions processes with an equity lens
Develop practises for integrating undergraduates and marginalised students into the units
Develop mechanisms for support and capturing the mental health of the units

Develop and maintain website resources related to community and its climate

We wish to acknowledge this land on which the University of Toronto operates. For thousands of years it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land. For more information.
